Generally flat roads and firm machair meadows. Bike hire available from several locations.
Fishing
Most of these fish became lobster and crab creel baits. The best sea fishing is from boats. Fishing trips can be organised with Skipinnish.
Trout fishing also available in two of the lochs. Sunday fishing allowed.
Kitesurfing
Beaches suitable for kitesurfing facing in all directions, with or without waves.

There is a very pretty nine hole golf course with epic seascapes in all directions to distract you from the misery of your latest slice.

Windsurfing
Tiree is well known as a mecca for serious wavesailing; what is less well known is that it has arguably the best beginners' conditions in Scotland with a very helpful teaching set up at Wild Diamond Windsurfing: Willy Angus MacLean 07712 159 205. Conditions for intermediates are brilliant with flat water blasting on the shallow loch or Gott Bay.

Sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding: bring your own boat or charm someone who has a boat. Boat trips with Skipinnish.
Socialising: an extended party atmosphere develops from the moment you arrive at the ferry terminal; frequent ceilidhs during the summer.
Alternatively, enjoy the peace and quiet of the island.

Eating: fabulous local meat (lamb and beef) and fresh seafood: crab, lobster, fish. Restaurants: Ceabhar, Scarinish Hotel and Tiree Lodge Hotel. Cafes: Rural Centre, Elephants End, An Talla and Sunday afternoons at Hynish Centre.
Walking: no Munros but great walks along the coast: beaches and dramatic headlands, including some big cliffs.
